Joe & Stacy Tie the Knot at the All Saints Chapel in Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina

 

This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of photographing Joe & Stacy’s wedding at the historic All Saints Chapel in Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina.

It was an early spring day in Downtown Raleigh, the trees were just starting to bud and the air was still crisp with hints of warmth. Joe & Stacy exchanged vows in front of close friends and family at the historic All Saints Chapel in Downtown Raleigh on March 15, 2015. The bride and groom’s style was both elegant and timeless.

My first impression upon walking into the All Saints Chapel , was how beautiful the light was. The alter featured colorful simmering light from a very large stain glass image of Jesus. The chapel was lined with windows that streamed in beautiful filtered light. I was elated to shoot the groom’s preparation photos because the groom’s room featured a large window that offered beautiful cathedral type lighting. Natural, beautiful light makes me oh, so happy!

“Built in 1875, All Saints has had a long and storied history, beginning as the chapel for the congregation at The Church of the Good Shepherd at the corner of Hillsborough and McDowell streets.

 Empire Properties saved the chapel from demolition in 2006, carefully moving it six blocks east to its new location on South East Street. A preservation team at Empire then spent the next two years painstakingly restoring the chapel to its original glory.” 

The ceremony was lead by Han Hills of Leap of Humanity. Han prepared a beautiful ceremony reading, which spoke to the truth and beauty of marriage. Han’s English accent seemed to provide even more grace to Joe & Stacy’s nuptials. After Joe & Stacy tied the knot, we drove a short distance to Moore Square Park in downtown Raleigh, for some cityscape portraits. The beautiful flowers featured in their wedding were from Fresh Affairs. The bride’s hair and makeup was done by Blo, of Raleigh.
